K/D Ratio (Otherwise Known As Nani Nani Boo Boo I Am Better Than You)

Now in no way am I claiming that I am better than anyone but good freaking grief, you would swear that K/D ratio is all the game is really about.

I enjoy playing the game for the purpose of the game.  I do not give a horse arse if my K/D is 0.50 or that my W/L is 0.77, I play it because I know it is a game and I enjoy playing that game.

It just kills me when you hear in the lobby, "Oh wow I had a 4.00 K/D ratio that game."  That is all well and good, but we were playing Hardpoint and you have ZED captures and ZED defends in an OBJECTIVE based gaming session.  While I think it is admirable that you were able to quick scope your way to the top of the kills board, how about being a team player and, well I do not know, helping out the team.  Same match, I had nine captures because, well I thought that was the point of Hardpoint.

I just thought it was funny.  Then I had a game where in the pre-game lobby the team I got put on consisted of four or five blokes from the same clan and one of them checked out my combat record and proceeded to heckle me because I was a Presige Six with only a 0.50 K/D ratio.  When I said that I am playing with complete nerve damage in my left hand due to a fractured neck and now having two plates and twelve screws in my neck, they still did not relent.

I just wanted to post this as a reminder for some that even if you are playing with someone who maybe does not get the highest K/D ratio, think twice about calling them out or being downright rude to them.  I would love to have a higher K/D ratio but when you really cannot feel your left hand and are basically only hoping that when your brain tells it to do something that it will actually do it.  Not everyone has it as well as you, I also work in a pediatric hospital where the kids are allowed to play the gaming systems there (Black Ops 2 is a game they can play) and they are not always the best at it but you know what, they enjoy playing as well.  When one of them was playing the other day, he was getting heckled badly because he was not doing the best, little did they know he was playing with a right hand that only has two fingers.  He got a little dejected by the way the people were calling him all sorts of unsavory names and I said to him, "Not to worry mate, the people you are playing with only have half a brain so you already are a half brain up on them."  He said, "Really?"  Sure thing, he has more heart playing the game than half of the people he was playing against and it was good to see him smile.
